More About Me

I am a PhD candidate in the Department of Hearing and Speech Sciences at Vanderbilt University, under the primary mentorship of Dr. Robin Jones.

My areas of research interest include examining personal and environmental factors that may contribute to stuttering in young children; diversity and representation issues in research and culture; and support programs for stuttering and other fluency disorders.

I am a licensed speech-language pathologist with many years of experience working with children who stutter, and a long association with SAY: The Stuttering Association for the Young. I integrate several different therapy approaches to support client goals for communication and quality of life through self-acceptance and growth towards individual goals.

My other interests and hobbies include:

  • constantly reading (fiction and non-fiction)
  • listening to music (classical, indie rock, and everything in between)
  • running
  • most geek culture (if it’s sci-fi or fantasy, I’ve probably watched it, read it, or rolled dice for it)
